Roubasienne for Coarse Fishing: Catching Barbel in river

Barbel Coarse Fishing 3

The search for the perfect prey is known, takes time, a careful study of the spot, the bottom and the fish catch, their tastes and the equipment to use.

All this, however, is often not enough and at the end of the day you find yourself with nothing in your hand but only so much dissatisfaction, wondering what may have gone wrong.

This is what happens to the protagonists of today's video of the Maver team, engaged in a fishing session with the roubasienne technique to freshwater breams, carp and barbels. In fact, priming them is very difficult, especially because of the freezing temperatures, which complicate even the simplest operations of preparing the equipment for the fishing session.

The experts position themselves on the banks of river Oglio, in Gazzolo. The spot seems ideal. Populated by beautiful barbels already caught in the previous days, it heralds an unforgettable day of fishing, despite the weather conditions.

The groundbait chosen for the day are the cheese-flavored Peschiera and the Terra di Fiume, which have proved to be infallible more than once and which the experts do not expect to put into fishing. PV1 has been added to the mixture to ensure greater compactness of the same during the descent phase and the maggots have been glued with Colla Destrix, also of the Maver brand, which ensures a perfect gluing of the larvae between them.

As announced, however, the protagonists of the video are forced after a few hours to leave the fishing spot not having perceived any eating or movement near them, thus deciding to move on the river Po.

After having placed a couple of stations and having completed the baiting action, the experts wait for the movements of the nearest fish, hoping that they are active despite the cold of the day.

The wait turns out to be an excellent opportunity to present the rod put into fishing, the Enigma Carp designed by Reglass for the heaviest commitments as that of today. The reliability of this rod is unparalleled even in its maximum length of 13 meters and is combined, in this case, the Kit MVR 100, slightly more powerful than other kits.

The first fish of the day, after so much waiting, turns out to be a fantastic barbel with magnificent colors that is shown with pride to the camera. This initial prey confirms to the protagonists of the fishing session that the fish have finally entered the baiting area.

Despite the reduced vitality, another barbel is not to be expected forcing the protagonist to a short but intense fight, which makes the prey even more desired. The Spanish barbel in question seems to be waiting for nothing more than to be put back in the water, something that happens immediately after the capture.

Among the equipment used during the day stand out Katana Maver 1110 hooks, hooks of large thread beaten with a barb that makes it impossible to accidentally unhook; the Run float, with antenna and drift in axis, to understand exactly the intensity of the current; SLR 75-meter fluorocarbon of the highest Japanese quality, which has passed the most demanding tests to which it has been subjected, such as the tensionimeter, which have ensured its extreme reliability.

The equipment presented by the protagonists ensures a last important capture before returning home. Another beautiful Spanish barbel closes the fishing session. An unlucky session that ended in the right spot, in the best way and with great satisfaction.
